The President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Musa Gusau stated delight with the Super Eagles’ 4-1 trouncing of Gabon on Thursday, then declared that they will win Sunday’s final with grit, guts and winning mentality.
Sports247 reports that Nigeria face Democratic Republic of Congo at 8pm on Sunday in the final of Africa’s play-offs competition for a 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket and Gusau believes the Eagles will in it.

The NFF as a body has been buoyed in confidence with the Eagles’ remarkable victory over Gabon in Thursday’s first semi-final played in Rabat, Morocco, as Eric Chelle’s side scored four goals in their second straight match.
Gusau praised the team’s effoets in the encounter and acknowledged how they made NFF officials and all Nigerians happy with what he described as a stout performance on the evening in Rabat.
Gusau stated: “We are happy with the result. The players rose stoutly to the occasion and made Nigeria proud with a solid performance.
“No doubt, they have that grit, guts and winning mentality to conquer in Sunday’s final.”
