Fulham of England winger, Samuel Chukwueze has declared that he is ready to play as a striker for the Super Eagles against Gabon if the need arises during Thursday’s opening match of the 2026 World Cup play-offs in Morocco, Sports247 reports.

The product of Diamond Football Academy of Umuahia, who played for AC Milan of Italy before joining Fulham in the summer transfer window, added that he could always switch from the wings into attack if he is called upon to save the teaam.

Chukwueze, who was among the early arrivals at the Eagles’ camp in Rabat, Morocco, recalled: “I sometimes played as a striker when I was in Villarreal, and it was good.

“I always like to help the team, and it’s part of the game. When they need someone to be in that position, I have to step up.”

However, the left-footed winger, who prefers playing on the right side of attack, admitted that he did not have a pleasant experience in last weekend’s game, as he could not save his team from losing 2-0 away to Everton.

“I was looking for the ball, and I tried my best to use it, but things did not go well for the team. I was not happy that we lost, and it was a difficult result to take. Now, we have to focus on the next game,” Chukwueze submitted.
