WORKING HARD FOR MY FOOTBALL COACHING LICENSE – OSAZE ODEMWINGIE

Not every accomplished retired professional footballer eventually turns out to be a successful coach when he/she hands up the boots.

In the Nigerian football clime, many players who retire take up coaching as the next line of their career. The lkes of Late Stephen Keshi, Mercy Akide, Henry Makinwa, Ann Chiejine, Kennedy Boboye, Imama Amapakabo, Florence Omagbemi, Sunday Oliseh, Victor Ikpeba, Mutiu Adepoju etc were Nigerian retired footballers who were successful as players and then coaches at different levels.

A certain retired Super Eagles ex-International player by the name, Peter Osaze Odemwingie is toiling such career path and is optimistic that he will be successful like his predecessors.

Months ago, the light complexioned Russian born Nigerian started his coaching career in the PGA Golf Training that will qualify him for the EuroPro Tour via Q-School in 2021.

Despite making progress in his new found love in the sport of Golf, Odemwingie is also working towards getting his coaching badge in football.

“It’s still in my plans to do my football badges in the future. I will do the football coaching badges because I have a lot of knowledge in that sport,”

Odemwingie has made 60 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria having won three AFCON bronze medals and an Olympic silver medal in 2008.

Odemwingie is described by many football pundits and fans in Nigeria as one of the most dedicated Super Eagles players after retiring from football in 2019.
