The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, has joined millions across the world in celebrating International Women’s Day, describing Nigerian women as pillars of strength, resilience, and progress in society.

In a goodwill message marking the global celebration, the SSA praised the remarkable contributions of women in nation-building, particularly their impact in sports, youth development, leadership, and community advancement.
Adeboye noted that women continue to break barriers and redefine possibilities across different sectors, adding that their determination and commitment have played a vital role in shaping a stronger and more inclusive society.
“Today, we celebrate the strength, courage, and invaluable contributions of women who continue to inspire progress in our nation and across the world. From our homes to leadership positions, from classrooms to sports arenas, women have consistently shown that their impact is immeasurable,” Adeboye stated.
The presidential aide also highlighted the increasing role of women in sports development, acknowledging female athletes, administrators, and stakeholders who have continued to elevate Nigeria’s global sporting reputation.
He emphasized that the growth of women’s participation in sports, particularly at the grassroots level, remains essential for nurturing the next generation of champions and role models.
“Women in sports have continued to make Nigeria proud on the global stage. Their achievements inspire young girls across the country to dream bigger and believe in their potential,” he added.
Adeboye further reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to creating opportunities that promote gender inclusion, empowerment, and equal participation in sports and national development.
According to him, investing in women and girls, particularly through sports and youth programs, will continue to strengthen communities and build a more balanced and progressive society.
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, the SSA encouraged Nigerians to continue supporting women and girls by creating environments where their talents, leadership, and aspirations can flourish.
“When women succeed, families grow stronger, communities thrive, and nations prosper. Today and every day, we celebrate the extraordinary women who continue to shape our future,” he said.
