The Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos has been confirmed as the official venue for the 2026 CAF Awards, Sports247 reports
The CAF Awards is one of African football’s most prestigious annual ceremonies.
The facility, formerly known as the National Arts Theatre before its extensive renovation and renaming, will host the continent’s finest football stars, administrators and dignitaries later this year.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) celebrates the outstanding performers of the 2025/26 season by honoring deserving footballers with the prestigious awards.
Nigeria had earlier been announced as the host nation for both the 2026 CAF Awards and the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly, reaffirming the country’s growing stature as a destination for major continental sporting events.
The confirmation of the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts as the awards venue adds another landmark event to the iconic Lagos facility, which has become a symbol of Nigeria’s cultural and creative renaissance following its transformation.
The 2026 CAF Awards will honour the continent’s top football talents across several categories, including African Player of the Year, Women’s Player of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year and Club of the Year.
Further details, including the date of the ceremony and the nominees for the various award categories, are expected to be announced by the Confederation of African Football in the coming weeks.
