Although 12 Angels, who train at Shonibare Street under the guidance of Coach Jack Damiete, could not achieve their dream of winning the glittering trophy at stake, the three youngsters got accolades from everyone present.

The shower of praises came for the trio after Wisdom and Gbolahan got the goals that gave their team a 2-0 victory over Brave Heart Football Academy in the third place match, while Isaac earlier netted twice in their second game to emerge as the football carnival’s highest goals scorer.

While BG Sports won the female category’s bronze medals with a 2-1 win over Angels Female, consolation came for the boys’ squad from the same stable, where former Leventis United of Ibadan striker, Morris Ofuife also helps out as a technical assistant.

At the end of the day of thrills, which rolled from 11am to 4pm with a total of 14 matches across two halves of the pitch, the three kids and teammates smiled home with bronze medals, which they all told Sports247 they will cherish for life.
