Fresh from Moscow, where he featured in the 60m hurdles, Musa wasted no time asserting himself on the home circuit.

Competing in his first 110m hurdles race of the season, the Nigerian hurdler clocked 14.31 seconds to dominate his heat and emerge as the fastest overall athlete across both heats at the meet.

His time placed him comfortably ahead of Abdullahi Olawale Abdulazeez, who won the second heat in 14.41s to finish second overall. Uchechukwu Felix secured third place overall with a time of 14.81s.

Musa’s performance in Benin highlighted both his sharpness and technical efficiency over the barriers. Despite the transition from indoor competition to the outdoor sprint hurdles, he showed strong rhythm between hurdles and maintained composure through the closing stages to seal the win convincingly.

The AFN Golden League continues to serve as a key platform for Nigerian athletes to fine-tune their form ahead of major international competitions, and Musa’s early statement performance positions him as one of the leading contenders in the discipline domestically.

Having already tested himself internationally this season, Musa appears determined to build momentum as the year progresses.

His latest victory not only reinforces his dominance on the home front but also signals his intent to elevate his performances on bigger stages.

With the outdoor season now underway, Wisdom Musa Great will be looking to build on this encouraging start as he sets his sights on a potentially breakthrough 2026 campaign.
