Wilson Praises Chukwueze: ‘He Makes the Hardest Position Look Easy — And His Work Rate Is Unreal!

Fulham midfielder Harry Wilson has heaped praise on Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, following his standout performance in the victory over Tottenham, describing him as a rare talent who makes even difficult roles on the pitch look effortless.

Speaking after the game, Wilson acknowledged that playing as a left-footed winger on the left side — the position Chukwueze was assigned — is one of the toughest roles in modern football.

“It’s not easy for a left-footer to play on the left wing. But Sam makes it look so natural, so smooth,” Wilson said.

The Welsh international highlighted Chukwueze’s ability to beat defenders inside and outside, create passing lanes, and maintain width without becoming predictable. According to Wilson, the Nigerian’s intelligence on the ball and his ability to shift defenders out of position add a new dimension to Fulham’s attack.

But what impressed him most was not the skill — it was the work rate.

“His defensive effort was unbelievable. He worked hard for the team, tracked runners, and helped us stay compact. That’s the side of his game people don’t always talk about,” Wilson added.

Chukwueze’s energy, discipline, and willingness to press high contributed significantly to Fulham’s dominance in midfield and turnover control. Wilson noted that the winger’s effort helped relieve pressure from the backline and kept Tottenham’s full-backs pinned deep for large portions of the match.

“He gives us balance — attacking and defending. When he plays like this, he lifts the whole team,” Wilson said.

He also commended Chukwueze’s mentality, calling him a player who trains hard, listens, and constantly seeks improvement.
“Sam just wants to get better every day. You see it in training — the hunger, the intensity, the focus,” Wilson noted.

The chemistry between the two wingers has been growing steadily, and Wilson believes Chukwueze’s arrival has added firepower and unpredictability to Fulham’s frontline.

“With the way he’s adapting, he will be massive for us this season,” Wilson concluded.

For Fulham, Chukwueze’s performance was another encouraging sign.
For Wilson, it was simple:
“He makes difficult football look easy — and that’s world-class.”
