Whyte Ogbonda Hails Bayelsa Queens’ Fighting Spirit After 4–1 Away Win Over Adamawa Queens

Bayelsa Queens head coach, Whyte Ogbonda, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance following their emphatic 4–1 away victory over Adamawa Queens in the NWFL Premiership, describing the result as a clear sign of growing confidence and ambition within the squad.

Speaking after the match, Ogbonda noted that his players executed the game plan effectively and showed the right mentality to dominate on the road. He emphasized that scoring four goals away from home reflects the attacking intent and steady improvement the team has been working towards this season.

“I think the game went well,” Ogbonda said. “We scored four goals and won away against Adamawa Queens, which is very encouraging for us. We are still targeting improvement, but this result shows we are moving in the right direction.”

The Bayelsa Queens coach also highlighted the positive atmosphere within the camp, stressing that high morale has been a major factor behind the team’s recent run of results. According to him, victories not only boost confidence but also reinforce the professional mindset of the players.

“The camp morale is very high,” he added. “Football is business—the more you win, the more rewards you get. That understanding is driving the players to give their best in every match.”

Looking ahead, Ogbonda revealed that Bayelsa Queens are already shifting focus to their next fixture, an away clash against Heartland Queens in Owerri. However, preparations may be temporarily affected by the ongoing national assignment involving the Nigeria U-20 team, which has led to a pause in league activities.

“We are supposed to play Heartland Queens away in Owerri,” he explained. “But with the national U-20 assignment, the league has been put on hold. We will continue to prepare and stay focused until action resumes.”

The convincing win in Adamawa further strengthens Bayelsa Queens’ credentials as serious contenders this season, as they continue to build momentum in the NWFL Premiership.
