“Why we are playing the State League“. – Blessed Stars Football Academy

Blessed Stars Football Academy an Akwa Ibom based sports academy has said that it will be participating in the state league this year.

The Akwa Ibom State Football Association league is scheduled to start this March with a host of teams taking interests.

Blessed Stars is one of the teams that will be participating in this league scheduled for March. The sports academy has said it is a new thing to them and also a bold step forward, in a statement by the Sporting Director, he informed us that taking part in the FA league is not to win the trophy but rather to expose the players and also serve as a challenge to them to be better players.

In 2018, it can be recalled that Blessed Stars Football Academy won the Akwa Ibom State Community Shield, a state government sponsored tournament partnered with the NFF and State FA. In 2019 the academy defended the trophy again defeating over 20 teams. The prize was awarded by the commissioner for Youths and Sports on behalf of the State Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

In 2017 the team was awarded with the Rising Talent Football Academy of the Year at the Akwa Ibom Sports Award Festival in Uyo attended by top government officials and NFF officials.

In a closing statement during an interview Sporting Director of Blessed Stars Football Academy reaffirmed that the league will however expose the player but it’s primary reason for participating is to engage the players.
