Why Mendes Proposal For Osimhen To Manchester United Will Not Come Through

Victor Osimhen is arguably the most promising Nigerian footballer playing his trade in Europe at the moment. Playing in a club like Napoli, the spotlight definitely will always beam on him as he could be likened to a goldfish; never to be hidden.

The 2022 Summer European transfer window is the busiest in five years, especially in the English Premier League as the top teams in England are always ready to roll out the bank cheques to get capable players either to maintain the quality of the team or bring them out of distress. One team in distress is Manchester United and no thanks to Christiano Ronaldo who vehemently is looking for his way out of the Theatre of Dreams.

Super Eagles forward and SSC Napoli wonder man, Victor Osimhen has been tipped to make a switch to Old Trafford while Manchester United wantaway world-class player, Ronaldo is expected to go the opposite way. Ronaldo has been seamlessly looking for a Champions League club with clubs like Chelsea and Bayern Munich already not interested this window as his heart is no longer with the manchester outfit. All efforts to leave the club have so far proved abortive despite Jorge Mendes’ endless pursuit.

It was reported late on Friday that Ronaldo’s agent, Mendes had offered to Napoli, Christiano Ronaldo plus cash for the signature of the Nigerian striker so he could do business in manchester but the proposal seems not to have seen the light of day yet.

Victor Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda has poured cold waters on the rumore that there is nothing between the clubs yet and Osimhen will continue to do business with the Napoles-based club. “There are no negotiations or swap deal talks in progress yet. Osimhen is still a Napoli player and he wants to play Champions League with Napoli. He is proud of being in the Champions League this season”.

The statement of the Nigerian’s agent has suggested that Osimhen will love to play in the Champions League as Manchester United cannot boast of a European first-tier football. The prolific Nigerian striker has already netted two goals in two games in the Italian topmost division going into the third week of action and Napoli has been drawn in group A contending with Liverpool, Ajax, and Rangers in this season’s UEFA Championship League campaign.
