Let’s get to know the Chief Organiser of this Ughelli Preseason Cup for those of us who might not know his background very well.
His name Coach Onome James CEO Excellent Fc NLO 1 Side Ughelli Delta Stat. A native of Ehwu Town in Ughelli South LGA, of Delta State. He is the 4th son of A Rt Nigeria Army Captain James Ikrechero and a great father at that. Without saying much you all now know where the brilliance and organization of this man is coming from.
Coach Onome is a grassroots sports coach, who has worked with different International Scout from European and African countries. It is no surprise that this competition since its inception has created a platform for young footballers who want to pursue a career in football. The success story of this tournament is not what anybody can say, because the effort, time, and resources he has put together to make this competition what it is today is something that can not be quantified.
Even though he has a team in the tournament Excellent Fc, he has always made sure that every team participating in the competition are treated fairly without fear and favour.
It might also interest you all to note that, Excellent Fc has been the only team in the history of Ughelli Preseason Cup to win the Trophy once and lost two Semi-Final 8th Edition and 10th Edition, I believe with this he has shown that fairness is the key to a successful tournament.
Ughelli Preseason Cup has come to Stay and my party shot is that this man, Coach Onome James should be celebrated for work well done.
