WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IN REMO: Violence Condemned Lies Not Necessary

What happened at the Remo Stars Stadium on Sunday Evening was what I witnessed personally but because of its nature, I would like to withhold but would be ready to come out if I am been told to come out and talk.

I do not support violence in any way but I feel that the public should decide even with the video evidence circulated now by almost everybody but one thing should be put in mind as a journalist, the video is only focused on what the opposing side wants people to see.

After witnessing what happened during and after the game, I was shocked by what I was reading. I will not mention the camp that came out with the most lie but I could see lies now flying all around and this isn’t making the public know what really transpired.

The violence and fans came down because of a slap, yes it happens but shouldn’t have happened because nobody is allowed to put laws into their hands.

Is any of the officials of Bendel Insurance battered or beaten to the extent that one will collapse after traveling from Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne to Benin City and sitting with the Governor collapsing and now receiving treatment? All these are not necessary.

What has happened in Remo is condemned by anybody who is into the business of football, even I know having to see Honourable Kunle Soname, the man that is investing mostly in Nigeria football will not also want to use his own hand or his football club to destroy his investment, that is what I think everybody should know.

This is what I will say on behalf of the people and the public, Remo please, Insurance please, all these we are saying is just because of the fight for promotion but the fight for promotion should not turn into enmity and lives threatened.
