The jocular winner, who also got a silver medal along the way, admitted that it was a tough outing for her, but expressed her profound gratitude to God for seeing her through as well as for the extra motivation that she got from her husband.
Oluwatoyosi said, “It was really challenging, but with the help of God, everything became possible. Through God’s grace, I dedicate my medals to my late mum and my husband, Abiodun.”
The excited lady further pointed out that God’s intervention really made a difference for her, as she recalled how she entered the competition with an expectation of returning home with a medal, but did not know it would eventually be two.
“I knew that I would win a medal here, but I did not think it would be two medals. I also did not know whether it would be gold, silver or bronze for me.
“That’s why I know it’s with the help of God that I was able to get these two medals,” Oluwatoyosi sermonised.
She concluded with accolades for the officials at Abeokuta 2025, saying: “The organisers really tried. They took good care of us, they were very cordial and the accommodation was really good.”
