He retorted, “It’s a very joyful one, and I’m happy to be part of the first ever West African Para-Games.
“I’m also very happy to get three medals – two gold and one bronze. I’m very happy to be here representing my country in Nigeria.”
The amiable Ghanaian, who competed in para-powerlifting 107kg plus category and arm wrestling 97kg plus class, added that he was really impressed seeing how the competition moved on smoothly in its various stages.
“It’s a very wonderful competition. Everything is cool, the organisation is smooth and it’s all okay. I like it very much,” Haruna stated.
He concluded with a call to lovers of sports, heads of government, corporate leaders and the general public to lend more support to armwrestlers all across Africa.
“I want to use this opportunity to tell people across Africa that they should invest in armwrestling and para-sports. Let them support us fully so that we can be showcased for Africa outside the continent.
“We want our impact to be heard and felt everywhere. We want them to help us reach the goals that we set for ourselves,” Haruna supplicated.
