A key member in the victorious squad of Lugna Properties, Emmanuel Gadida has revealed several secrets of the strategy and factors that helped his team win this year’s Werblack Wines Synergy Cup organised by Island All Stars Club (IASC) in Lekki, Lagos.
Gadida, who is fondly called ‘Gadeka’ and ‘World Number Two’ by his friends, told Sports247 that the biggest factor that helped Team Lugna become champions was their fairh in God and trust in His ability to see them through.

The excited winner also thanked all members of the team and their supporters for sticking together till the end, even when it initially appeared at the beginning as if their squad was not good enough to clinch the title.
He eulogised, “I am highly excited and so marveled. I don’t know how to thank everybody who gathered to come and celebrate with us.
“Nobody wants to associate with failure, and everybody wants success. In the beginning, many people did not believe in us, and even I thought we didn’t have a good team; but God made it possible for us to win.”
The exuberant team leader disclosed further that his side’s 2-0 win over Drexel Apartments on Saturday, which gave Team Lugna the trophy, made it a back-to-back conquest of the competition for him, then thanked God for blessing his experience with favour.
“With God, all things are possible, and I am happy that I am a winner again. I won it last year, and I have repeated it in this 2025 edition.
“We have the experience, and we know the strategies. We know that you have to play against everybody when it comes to the final. The good thing, though, was that our comportment helped us.
“We comported ourselves very well. We were disciplined and avoided things that could bring us down. We stayed calm despite all that the referee did.
“He tried to destabilise us with many funny offside decisions, but we didn’t complain. We knew why we were here and what we wanted to achieve.
“We also believe in God, and He did it for us. We are happy, we are excited, and I dedicate this trophy to everybody at Team Lugna, the champions. Thank you, everybody,” Gadida enthused.
