Simon, one of the Super Eagles’ longest-serving players, said Chelle’s leadership has created a renewed sense of togetherness in the squad, with the players fully committed to the coach’s philosophy and vision for the team.
The Nigeria international’s comments come amid growing praise for Chelle following his impressive start in charge of the Super Eagles and reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has moved to secure his long-term future.
“Coach Eric Chelle has brought stability to this team. He has united the players, and everyone believes in what we’re trying to achieve together,” Simon said.
The FC Nantes winger also credited the coach with helping players rediscover their confidence, adding that the atmosphere within the squad has improved significantly since Chelle’s arrival.
Simon revealed that the bond between the players and the coaching staff has become one of the team’s greatest strengths.
“He has brought out the best in us. We are ready to go to war for him, for the country and for the badge because we believe in what he is building,” he added.
Since taking charge of the Super Eagles, Chelle has earned praise from several former internationals and football stakeholders for introducing a more structured style of play while rebuilding confidence within the squad after Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles are expected to regroup later this year for their next international assignments, with Chelle continuing preparations as Nigeria targets success in upcoming continental and World Cup qualifying competitions.
