‘We Want The Finals’ Abdulrahman Sets Ambitious Target — Maktown Flyers Eye Strong Debut In BAL

Head coach of Maktown Flyers Mohammed Abdulrahman has expressed confidence in his team’s preparations ahead of their debut appearance at the Basketball Africa League (BAL), setting a bold target of reaching the finals.

Representing Nigeria in this year’s competition, the Flyers have been drawn into a highly competitive Sahara Conference, where they will face top clubs including FUS Rabat, Al Ahly, Club Africain, ASC Ville de Dakar, and JCA Kings.

Despite the tough opposition, Abdulrahman believes his team is ready for the challenge.

“We’ve made progress,” he said, highlighting improvements in preparation and team cohesion.

The Flyers’ campaign is set to begin on April 25 in Rabat, Morocco, a stage where they will test themselves against some of the continent’s best.

For Abdulrahman, the objective is clear.

“We want to qualify for the finals,” he stated.

The coach acknowledged that making a debut in such a high-level competition comes with pressure, but insisted that the team is focused and determined.

“We are ready,” he implied.

Preparation has been key, with the team working to build chemistry, refine tactics, and strengthen their overall performance ahead of the tournament.

For Nigerian basketball, the Flyers’ participation represents an opportunity to showcase talent and compete on a continental stage.

As the competition approaches, expectations will rise.

But for Abdulrahman and his team, the mission remains straightforward.

Compete, perform, and aim high.

Because in sport, ambition drives success.

And the Flyers are aiming for the top.
