After a challenging Week 3 outing in the ongoing Showtime Bowl Series XIII, Jefferson Ibinabo, the determined and hardworking quarterback of Greenbacks Flag Football, reflected on his team’s 38–0 loss to defending champions, Warriors Flag Football, at the Showtime Arena.
Speaking with Sports247, Ibinabo admitted that a momentary lapse in concentration proved costly for the Greenbacks, who had shown early promise in the matchup before the Warriors’ dominance took full control.

“Lack of concentration cost us this game,” Ibinabo said. “We were able to hold them for a while but missed our own chances — that’s sport for you. They are a very strong side, and we knew we were facing the defending champions. We didn’t come expecting it to turn out this way, but we’ll learn and bounce back.”
Known for his strong leadership and drive on the field, Ibinabo’s composure after defeat underscores his commitment to seeing Greenbacks improve as the league progresses.
The Showtime Flag Football League has continued to raise the standard of competitive play, attracting more fans and building a growing reputation across Nigeria’s sports scene. For Ibinabo and his teammates, the loss serves as a wake-up call — and a motivation to come back stronger in the coming weeks.
As Week 4 approaches, the Greenbacks are expected to return to training with renewed focus and determination, driven by Ibinabo’s belief that resilience, not setbacks, defines a championship team.
