“We Had to Be Clinical” — Esther Inyang Reflects After Falconets’ 4‑0 Win Over She‑Amavubi

Esther Inyang, the dynamic midfielder for the Falconets and Edo Queens, said she is proud of her team’s performance after their commanding 4‑0 victory over She‑Amavubi in the World Cup qualifying fixture at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.

Speaking after the match, Inyang emphasized the importance of composure, creativity, and seizing scoring opportunities. “We knew we could control the game, especially in midfield,” she said. “My aim was to carry the ball forward, find passes that break lines, and help unlock their defense. When you win 4‑0, you feel that what you worked on shows.”

Inyang highlighted her ability to take on defenders in tight spaces. “In training we work a lot on tight-space handling. If I see that gap, I want to be able to beat a player, draw two, open space for others. That’s what helps the team.”

On her “killer passes” and chance creation, she noted: “Assisting, creating chances — that’s as satisfying to me as scoring. If I can make the decisive pass, the one that leads to a goal, that makes a big difference.”

Looking ahead, Inyang and the Falconets are preparing for their next challenge: Senegal in the next round of the qualifiers. “Senegal will be tough, but we are focused,” she said. “We have to stay disciplined, communicate, and bring the same energy we showed today. Every game counts in this campaign.”

Falconets’ victory sends a message: with creativity, vision, and determination, they can dominate. And Esther Inyang appears ready to be a central figure as Nigeria looks to continue its march toward the World Cup.
