“It was a tough and competitive game, but I’m proud of the way we fought,” Okonkwo said.
The forward noted that D’Tigress refused to give up and continued battling back into the contest, a sign of the team’s determination and spirit.
However, she admitted that a few costly errors at important moments ultimately made the difference.
“We showed resilience, but a few mistakes at crucial moments cost us,” she added.
Okonkwo stressed that the team would take lessons from the defeat and continue working on areas that need improvement as the competition progresses.
“We’ll review the game and keep improving,” she said.
The Nigerian star remains confident that the experience gained from such matches will help D’Tigress become stronger ahead of their next outings.
For Okonkwo, the focus now is on learning quickly, correcting mistakes, and responding positively in the games ahead.
