Head coach of Amavubi, Adel Amrouche, has declared that Rwanda will not lose to South Africa, insisting his team will fight to finish their World Cup qualifying campaign on a high.
Amrouche, speaking after his side’s disappointing result against Benin Republic, admitted frustration at the missed opportunity but maintained full confidence in his players’ ability to respond in style.

“We are disappointed, yes, because we wanted to win that match,” Amrouche said. “But this is football. What matters now is our reaction — and I can assure you, we will not go down easily against South Africa. We will fight for every ball.”
The Algerian-born tactician, known for his passionate leadership, emphasized that Rwanda’s progress under his watch is no fluke. He said the team has grown in tactical maturity and mental strength, and that the final game will be a chance to prove their evolution on the continental stage.
“We are building something solid,” he continued. “Our players have shown heart, hunger, and belief. Even if the results have not gone our way, our performances show that we belong at this level.”
Amrouche called on his squad to play for pride and national honour, regardless of their position on the table. “It’s not over until the final whistle,” he added. “This is about dignity, identity, and the Rwandan spirit. South Africa will meet a team that refuses to give up.”
With Rwanda set to face Bafana Bafana in their last qualifying fixture, Amrouche’s bold declaration sets the tone for what could be a fiery end to their campaign.
