Undefeated Nigerian boxer Yusuf Adisa Adeniji (16-0, 10 KOs) is set for a high-stakes showdown against fellow unbeaten French fighter Yoni Valverde (15-0, 3 KOs) in the Men’s Featherweight Quarter-final of the ongoing WBC Boxing Grand Prix, the inaugural Boxing World Cup.
The bout is scheduled for August 13 in Saudi Arabia and promises to be one of the most anticipated clashes of the tournament, featuring two fighters yet to taste defeat in their professional careers.

The WBC Boxing Grand Prix is currently in its third phase and has attracted top talents from across the globe as they battle for supremacy under the World Boxing Council’s global championship initiative.
Adeniji, known for his knockout power with 10 stoppage victories, will be looking to extend his perfect record against the technically skilled Valverde, who has built his reputation on precision and defensive prowess.
The winner of this quarter-final bout will advance to the semi-finals, bringing them one step closer to becoming the first-ever WBC Boxing World Cup champion.
Yusuf is the only of the Nigerian boxers who made it past the first round,( round of 64) as three other Nigerian boxers who featured in the maiden boxing grand prix got knocked in the first round.
The winner of each category will win the prestigious Jose Sulaiman trophy and 200 thousand US dollars.
Organised by the WBC, this international tournament features fighters under 26-years-old with fewer than 15 professional bouts, giving them global exposure and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to shine.
