Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have capped off their impressive campaign at the 2025 WAFU B U20 Championship with an unbeaten record, sealing their dominance and setting their sights on the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2026.

Under the guidance of coach Adukwu, the Falconets displayed flawless performances throughout the regional tournament, winning all four matches and showcasing the technical discipline and attacking flair that have come to define their style of play.

In their final game against Benin Republic, Nigeria edged out a determined host side 1-0, thanks to a 16th-minute strike from forward Ramotalahi Kareem, whose decisive goal ensured the Falconets finished the tournament with a perfect record.

The victory added to Nigeria’s impressive run that saw them defeat Ghana twice (3-1, 3-0) and Benin Republic twice (3-0, 1-0), scoring 10 goals and conceding just one throughout the competition.

Their defensive solidity and attacking precision underline the team’s readiness for global competition.

Coach Adukwu expressed satisfaction with his players’ performance, describing the tournament as a vital preparatory ground for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to hold in Poland from 5 to 27 September 2026.

He noted that the experience gained from the WAFU B campaign will serve as a strong foundation for the team’s build-up to the global stage.

With their commanding display, the Falconets have once again reaffirmed their status as one of Africa’s most consistent and formidable youth teams, as they now shift focus to the task ahead — flying the Nigerian flag high at the world stage.
