WAFCON 2024: Super Falcons’ Coach Justin Madugu Admits Pressure Ahead Of Tuesday’s Semi-final

Super Falcons’ coach, Justin Madugu has admitted that his players are under pressure to maintain the momentum of their surge into the semi-finals of this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2024) in Morocco.

Sports247 reports that a 5-0 trouncing of Zambia on Friday took Madugu’s team into the last four, where they will play either Senegal or defending champions, South Africa, which the gaffer admitted puts more pressure on his players.

Ahead of Tuesday’s game at Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, the Falcons look formidable in attack and defence, as they have now scored nine goals in four matches without conceding any.

The soft-spoken tactician conceded, “This puts extra pressure on everybody. It comes with extra pressure because it does not give room for mistakes.”

Madugu, though, assured all Nigerian football lovers that he and his players will be up to the task against any team that comes their way in Tuesday’s WAFCON 2024 first semi-final fixture.

“(To win at this stage of the competition), you must get ready and be fully prepared in all aspects. So, we are equally prepared and ready for it,” Madugu disclosed
