Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons’ head coach, Justin Madugu isn’t getting carried away by his side’s 3-0 victory against Tunisia at this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, as he is already calling for more support ahead of their next game.
Sports247 reports that the Falcons looked rusty during Sunday’s match in Casablanca, Morocco but still managed to edge the Tunisians with goals by Asisat Oshoala, Rinsola Babajide and Chinwedu Ihezuo, much to the relief of Magudu, who is working in an interim capacity.

Looking ahead towards their next match versus Botswana this Thursday, and the final group fixture against Algeria on Sunday, the history chasing gaffer admitted that his side also need prayers and goodwill for them to keep winning at the ongoing competition.
He thanked Nigerian football fans for lending words of encouragement and supportive efforts to the Falcons’ WAFCON quest, which he acknowledged as reflections of the high level of trust everyone has in his team.
He then pleaded that the fans should not relent in their backing of his squad, who he disclosed are determined to justify all confidence that has been placed on them by their supporters.
Madugu added, “We thank Nigerians for their consistent support of the Super Falcons. They have always expressed a lot of confidence in the team, and they have given us their fullest support in every way possible.
“We wish that that support continues and we, on our part, are doing our best to make sure that that confidence they repose in the team is sustained.”
The bulky tactician acknowledged that his team struggled for form during Sunday’s match but concluded with a promise that they will put in more effort to do better in their subsequent fixtures.
“We’ll try as much as possible to meet up with their expectations. Let them continue to trust and support the team. We want all Nigerians to pray for the team and wish the team well,” Madugu disclosed.
