WAFCON 2024: Falcons’ Winger Toni Payne Boasts – We’ll Be Ready For Any Team In Tuesday’s Semi-final

Everton Ladies of England winger, Antionette Oyedupe Payne has come out boasting that she and her colleagues in Nigeria’s female national team are ready to battle any opponent during this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2024) semi-final on Tuesday.

Sports247 reports that the Falcons set many tongues wagging on Friday, after they thrashed Zambia 5-0 in a surprisingly one-sided quarter-final clash at Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, Morocco.

Against the backdrop of that historic achievement, the former Ajax of Netherlands and Sevilla of Spain forward, who was born in Alabama, USA, reckoned that the Falcons have proven that they remain highly formidable as nine-time African champions and good enough to win number 10.

While declaring that they are ready to take on all opposition, Payne assured Nigerians that the Falcons will not underrate any team that comes their way on Tuesday, especially as they will face the winner between Senegal and defending champions, South Africa.

“We respect every team that we play, but we’ve definitely prepared for whatever they are going to throw at us. We are going to do our best to make it to the next stage,” pledged the 30-year-old forward who is popularly known as Toni Payne
