Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons’ former striker, Desire Oparanozie, has charged the squad to improve their rate of converting goal-scoring chances in order to win this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Sports247 reports.

Speaking against the backdrop of the Falcons’ 3-0 spanking of Tunisia in their first group game on Sunday, Oparanozie admitted that the margin of victory was wide, but stressed that the Nigerians could have scored more goals.
The former Guingamp of France attacker added, “We had more goal-scoring opportunities and more ball possession. This showed that we should have scored more than we actually did. It means they need to work on that area.”
Oparanozie, who served as a match-day analyst during live television coverage of Sunday’s match, conceded that the Falcons deserve applause for dominating the game and eventually netting three goals, but concluded with a charge for them to keep working on their weaknesses in front of the goal.
“All in all, we dominated the game. Our defence was very commanding, we kind of dominated the midfield, and we even looked good in attack as well.
“However, we still need to go back and do more in training, because we need to make sure that we find a way to convert our chances.
“As for me, I believe that there’s always room for improvement in any team,” posited Oparanozie, who initially captained the Falcons for some years before she was controversially replaced.
