WAFCON 2022: Waldrum Says “Super Falcons Are Ready For Morocco”

With the semifinals clash against the host, the Atlas Lioness of Morocco up next, the Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum has declared that his team “are ready” for the clash.

Nigeria will face the debut semifinalists on Monday evening as they hunt for the 10th consecutive finals and trophy.

Speaking at the pre-match conference, Waldrum said: “The players are excited we are going to the World Cup, we have been able to recover. We are looking forward to the game on Monday evening.”

“I took the job and I understand I have to raise the standard. I am always in contact with the President (Amaju Pinnick) to ensure we have the best plans for the team. This is an amazing group of women to work with, but we still have to do more.”

The American also heaped praises on the Moroccan team he saw last year.

“I saw Morocco last year in September and I am impressed with the kind of football they play. Their football is outstanding and how they have been able to develop the game. We have a big challenge and we won’t take the game lightly. We have respect for them.”

Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi who was also at the pre-match conference reiterated that the team are ready for the host nation.

“We have been able to recover after the quarter-final game and we are good to go against Morocco.”

“I am not bothered about our opponent, host or not, it is the same football. We are ready.”
