WABA & Ringside Gym Global Laid Down Combat Sports’ Infrastructure

The President of WABA, Hon. Ky Col. Onesmo Alfred McBride Ngowi from Tanzania have officially opened a three day Ring Officials Training Seminar at the Ringside Gym Global in the United Arab Emirate’s Commercial Archipelago of Dubai today conducted by three most qualified boxing and combat sports’ experts from France and Italy.

The Seminar, part of the three series brought together several participants from various countries some staying and working in Dubai while others flew to Dubai over the weekend to gain knowledge and skills from two most tasted and oiled experts in Didier Le Borgne from France who was the 7 times Champion of the world in Muaythai and Kickboxing.

According to the WABA’ Director of Human Resources Management (DHRM) Irene Joseph Magebo, the Ringside Gym Global owned and managed by Zack Taumafai from Samoa/Australia and Payom Honari from Iran/UAE is the organizers of the Mega Ring Officials Training Seminar.

Ms. Magebo who is the Coordinator of the Seminar from the WABA said that the program will enable participants to gain substantial skills and knowledge on the combat sports that will grow the sector. She said that the inherent values of the seminar is to keep boxers safe by training the sports’ technicians FIRST.

The WABA’s DHRM affirmed her entity’s resolve to provide in the growth of boxing, MMA, Kickboxing and Muaythai as the four dynamic combat sports ever.

The senior trainer Didier Le Borgne, who has traversed the world at large in various competitive combat sports appreciated the advanced growth of the MMA in recent years saying that the sport has gone through mega and rapid transformation which has propelled it to be one of the leading combat sports in TV’s preview around the world.

Le Bougne who trains and manages several world rated boxers provided a clue on how Ring Officias should train saying that knowledge on the technical and rules are an integral part of sound skills for the third man/woman in the ring, the referee.

“You need to know in-depth how the two fighters engage themselves to make informed decisions whether to step in to stop the fight or allow the two fighters to continue to slay each other” said the expert who is the household name in the combat sports worldwide.

Today two combat sports disciplines to feature in the training are Kickboxing and Muaythai where participants are learning the skills of coaching also.

Tomorrow, Didier Le Borgne and Lorenzo Borgomeo will conduct the MMA and Cutman’ seminar.

In the meantime, the President of WABA Onesmo Alfred McBride Ngowi will conduct the Supervisor’ training featuring WABA’ Commissioners from the Middle East, Persian, and Samoa Zack Taumafai and Payom Honari from Iran/UAE, Agnes Mtimakunena from Malawi, and WABA’ DHRM Irene Joseph Magebo from Tanzania respectively.

The Supervisor’s training enables the Commissioners to adequately address the management roles of tournaments in their respective regions.

The Ring Officials Training Seminar is certified by the Association of Professional Boxing Commission (APBC) and the Boxers Mixed Martial Arts Fighters Union (BMMAFU) both USA entities.
