The talented striker’s recent hat-trick against São Tomé and Príncipe has elevated his goal tally to an impressive 20 goals, securing his position as the fourth-highest goal scorer in the history of Nigerian football.

Osimhen’s journey to stardom commenced at the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile, where he played an instrumental role in helping Nigeria lift the coveted trophy. Displaying his extraordinary goal-scoring prowess, the young striker netted an astounding 10 goals and provided two assists during the tournament.

His exceptional efforts were duly recognized as he claimed both the Golden Boot and Silver Shoe awards. In the same year, he was honored with the CAF Youth Player of the Year award, a testament to his outstanding performances on the international stage.

He was part of Nigeria’s U-20 team that, unfortunately, failed to qualify for the U-20 AFCON in 2017. Notably, Osimhen’s contributions extended beyond youth football. In a crucial 2019 qualification match, he delivered a stunning hat-trick for Nigeria’s U-23 team, securing a 4-2 aggregate victory against Libya. This remarkable performance was a turnaround, as Nigeria had initially lost the first leg 2-0.

Osimhen’s three goals and one assist in the second leg epitomized his ability to inspire his team to victory.

Osimhen’s impressive journey culminated in his debut for the Nigeria Super Eagles on June 1, 2017, in a friendly match against Togo. He was a vital part of the squad that achieved a remarkable third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Later that same year, Osimhen marked his presence on the international stage by scoring his first senior international goal in a thrilling 2-2 friendly draw against Ukraine.
