Victor Osimhen Shatters Records as Galatasaray Clinches Turkish Cup Glory

Nigerian sensation Victor Osimhen capped off a phenomenal season in style, scoring twice to lead Galatasaray to a commanding 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor in the 2025 Turkish Cup final on May 14 at Gaziantep Stadium.

The brace not only secured Galatasaray’s 19th Turkish Cup title but also highlighted Osimhen’s dominance throughout the season.

His opening goal set the tempo early in the first half, while his second – a clinical finish – sealed the triumph and earned him the Man of the Match award.

With these two goals, Osimhen brought his tally to an astounding 35 goals in all competitions this season — the highest by a Galatasaray player in over two decades.

His 24 goals in the Süper Lig earned him the league’s Golden Boot, while his performances in domestic and European fixtures consistently turned matches in Galatasaray’s favor.

This remarkable feat broke Osimhen’s previous personal record of 31 goals, set during his time with Napoli, establishing a new career high and further bolstering his status among Europe’s elite strikers.

The victory also secured Galatasaray’s place in the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League play-offs and a spot in the Turkish Super Cup final.

As Osimhen’s star continues to rise, speculation over his future intensifies, but Galatasaray fans remain hopeful their talisman will stay to build on this historic campaign.

Victor Osimhen’s 2024–25 season will go down as one of the most prolific and memorable in Turkish football history — a year of goals, glory, and greatness.
