Victor Osimhen Pens Emotional Message After Breaking Personal Goal Record: “This Record Isn’t for the Noise”

Nigerian star Victor Osimhen continues to redefine excellence on the pitch—this time with a historic brace that shattered his personal best for goals in a single club season.

In Galatasaray’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Sivasspor on Saturday, Osimhen netted twice, taking his season tally to 33 goals—surpassing his previous record of 31. The milestone further cements his status as one of the most prolific forwards in world football.

Following the match, Osimhen took to social media with a humble but powerful message:
“This record isn’t for the noise.”

The comment reflects the striker’s grounded mindset despite his incredible form. Rather than bask in individual glory, Osimhen emphasized his commitment to consistent hard work and team success. It’s a trait that has defined his career—through adversity, transfer uncertainties, and shifting expectations.

The brace against Sivasspor wasn’t just about numbers. One of the goals, an audacious overhead kick, reached a height of 2.32 meters—making it one of the highest ever scored, second only to Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous 2.38-meter effort in 2018. The feat drew global praise, yet Osimhen kept his focus inward.

“This isn’t for the cameras,” he seemed to suggest with his words. “It’s about pushing limits, quietly.”

The 25-year-old, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has become the driving force behind the club’s title charge in the Turkish Super Lig. Beyond club football, he’s also matched Segun Odegbami’s record of 23 goals for the Super Eagles—but again downplayed the achievement, saying:

“I really don’t care about this. I just want to do my job, win games, score goals, and assist my teammates.”

Fellow Nigerian international Victor Boniface summed up what many feel, calling Osimhen “a person God has blessed” in a recent tribute.

As Osimhen’s season reaches new heights, it’s not just about goals—it’s about the quiet greatness of a player who leads with humility and purpose.
