The Super Eagles forward features prominently on the Top Scorers of National Teams (2021–2030) list.

Osimhen is currently joint 14th on the standings with Serbia’s Aleksandar Mitrović, with both players scoring 27 international goals since 2021.

The ranking underlines the Galatasaray striker’s consistency and effectiveness on the international stage over the last five years.

A breakdown of Osimhen’s output shows steady progress across the decade. He scored five goals in 2021, repeated the feat in 2022 and 2023, added three goals in 2024, and enjoyed his most productive year in 2025 with nine international goals.

At the top of the IFFHS list is Norway’s Erling Haaland with 49 goals, followed by England captain Harry Kane on 46 and Argentina great Lionel Messi on 44 finishing the top 3.

Cristiano Ronaldo sits close behind with 41 goals, while Kylian Mbappé has recorded 39 for France making the top 5.

Other notable names on the list include Memphis Depay and Mehdi Taremi (34 each), Romelu Lukaku and Sadio Mané (32), and Son Heung-min (28).

Beyond the decade rankings, Osimhen’s overall impact for Nigeria continues to grow. Since making his Super Eagles debut in 2017, the 27-year-old has scored 35 goals in 51 appearances, making him Nigeria’s second-highest goalscorer of all time. Only the legendary Rashidi Yekini remains ahead of him, by just two goals.

In 2025, Osimhen was joint-fifth highest goalscorer worldwide across all competitions with 46 goals for club and country, finishing as Africa’s top scorer for the year.

The 2023 African Footballer of the Year has already won two AFCON bronze medals and one silver but is still chasing a continental title.

With the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations set to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, Osimhen will be aiming to turn his individual milestones into international success for Nigeria.
