Victor Ikpeba U-17 Football Challenge Storms Warri Dec. 24-26

In addition to the various festive activities lined up by various sons and daughters of Warri, Delta State, the Victor Ikpeba Football Challenge Five-A-Side Competition has joined the fray of the series of celebrations to the blitz of Xmas and Boxing Day in the oil-rich city, as the event has been scheduled to hold in the city from December 24 to 26, in the area of sports development, especially in a location where the former African Footballer of the Year had his childhood.

According to the General Coordinator of the event, Mr. Dapo Sotuminu, a total of 16 male Under 17 teams picked from across the Warri City will battle for honors in an event powered by Bet9ja to help Victor Ikpeba give back to the people of Warri.

The three-day football challenge will be played at the Effurun Barrack. And will be out to additionally identify hidden talents in the city who will be given the opportunity to develop into greater football stars.

The champion of the Victor Ikpeba Football Challenge will go home with a cash prize of N150,000, a giant trophy, and medals. The second-place team will take home N100,000, third N70,000, and Fourth place N50,000 spreading across the board and ensuring that all the teams that got to the semi-finals won’t go empty-handed.

The official draws for the tournament and the Technical meeting on the rules and regulations with teams’ officials will be held in the morning of December 24, before the eventual kick-off of the tournament.

The tournament which will be played on a knockout basis will be concluded on December 26.

Some of the events for the closing ceremony would see an All-Stars game between Victor Ikpeba and Friends, that would also feature former Super Eagles star, Edema Fuludu alongside other top Nigeria ex-internationals play against Bet9ja agents in Delta State. This game will be played at the Army Day Football Field, Warri Express Road before the tournament final match.
