The striker, who has endured a frustrating spell on the sidelines, revealed that he is back at his parent club Bayer Leverkusen to speed up his rehabilitation process, with hopes of featuring again before the end of the season.

“I’m back on the grass now and feeling good,” Boniface said. “It’s been a tough period, but I’m focused on getting back to full fitness.”

The powerful forward explained that while returning to outdoor training is a positive development, he is taking a cautious approach to avoid setbacks.

“I’m trying to get comfortable again with the things I used to do naturally,” he noted. “It’s step by step. I don’t want to rush anything.”

Boniface admitted that time away from competitive football has been mentally challenging but insisted that the experience has strengthened his resolve.

“Injuries test you, especially when you want to help your team,” he said. “But I’ve used the time to work on myself physically and mentally.”

The Nigerian international also emphasized that his immediate priority is regaining rhythm rather than focusing on selection or match timelines.

“The most important thing is to be fully ready. When I return, I want to contribute properly,” he added.

Boniface has been an important figure for club and country, and his return will be a welcome boost for both.

“I just want to be back doing what I love and helping my team,” he concluded.

With grass sessions now underway, attention will turn to when the forward could make his competitive comeback as the season enters its decisive phase.
