Victor Boniface: Lack of Preparation Time Affects Super Eagles’ Performances

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has pointed to inadequate preparation time as the main reason Nigerians are yet to see the best of the national team.

The lanky forward stressed that while the squad is packed with quality, the lack of extended training camps often prevents the players from building the chemistry needed to perform at their highest level.

“The talent is there; Nigeria has some of the best players in Africa and in Europe. But the problem is time. We don’t spend enough time together before matches, and that makes it difficult to build proper understanding on the pitch,” Boniface explained.

He noted that international football requires more than just individual brilliance, as successful teams are those who combine seamlessly. “Football is about connections. You can’t expect magic if the players don’t have enough time to train, bond, and understand each other,” he added.

Despite these challenges, Boniface urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the team. He highlighted the Super Eagles’ potential to achieve great things if given stability and proper preparation.

“Fans should keep believing in us. We know expectations are high, and we’re working hard. With time and consistency, we can deliver the results the nation wants,” he assured.

Boniface, who has enjoyed a breakout period in Europe, also stressed the importance of discipline and professionalism among his teammates. He believes that with the right structure in place, Nigeria can dominate African football and compete strongly on the global stage.

The Super Eagles are preparing for a busy calendar of qualifiers and international friendlies, and Boniface is optimistic that improved planning will make the difference.

“We have everything it takes — talent, experience, and hunger. Once we get enough preparation time, we’ll show the world the real strength of the Super Eagles,” he concluded.
