Victor Boniface Admits Worrying Moments In Werder Bremen’s 2-1 Win Over Wolfsburg

Werder Bremen of Germany striker, Victor Boniface has admitted that he was personally worrried at point in his team’s match with VfL Wolfsburg last weekend, as the visitors were still leading up till very late in the German Bundesliga game.

Sports247 gathered that, though Boniface started on the bench, he went on as a 65th minute substitute and made a huge contribution to his team’s revival with an assist on their winning goal, which came in the fourth minute of added time.

The embattled striker, who is on loan from last season’s champions, Bayer Leverkusen, reflected on how Wolfsburg went ahead in the 28th minute and Bremen toiled to get an equaliser in the 83rd minute, before eventually snatching a last ditch 2-1 win.

He confessed, “It was a very difficult game, but I feel good that we won. From 1-0 down, we got the victory, which is the most important thing. So, I feel good about it.”

He then praised the home crowd for their support and admitted that the victory came due to unrelenting chants in the stands, which spurred the players on all through the tough encounter.

Boniface recounted, “The whole team gave their best, and we got a lot of motivation from the fans. They gave us extra energy and, luckily for us, we got the win.

“I was already worried about what was going on; but that’s football. The fans are crazy and they kept up their noise throughout the whole 90 minutes.”
