VANDREZZER FC remains a brand – TUPERE

Vandrezzer FC’s Vice President Bruno Tupere insists the club is not distraught as drizzles turned into a heavy downpour on Day Two of the Garden City Tour in Portharcourt, Rivers state.

Speaking in the wake of the downpour which saw to the cancellation of the widely publicised game against NPFL side Rivers United, the Lions’ number two man says the setback doesn’t imply the end of the vision of the club.

According to Bruno : ” I wish we had control over the elements. These are some of the things you really can’t plan for and you can’t do anything about when it happens, but life is built on hope and this is only a set back, not the end of our desire to change the face of Nigeria Football”.

Vandrezzer FC were billed to play Rivers United by 4pm on Thursday February 27, as part of itinerary for our Garden City Tour at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, but game was put off after about an hour of downpour with the pitch saturated with water.

Speaking further, the Vandrezzer VP said though sad, the club experienced no loss with the unfavourable weather condition for the game. To him, the club rather achieved an increased fanbase within the city.

“It’s not a loss and I say that with all confidence. We mobilised Port Harcourt people on Radio and TV plus live interactions. All of those interactions created awareness for our brand. We now have Port Harcourt people who know the brand called Vandrezzer better and are part of it”.

He added: They (our fans) all wished we had the match. Cheerleaders, flag bearers all trained for an activity which shows there’s a brand poised to do things differently and in a better way so they will carry the story around. Our loss today will be our gain on Saturday”.

Prior to the heavy downpour, the Lions’ engaged in its characteristic deluxe preparations for the friendly against Rivers United with state of the art organization, bringing in World class sound and video systems, drones, cheer leaders, flag bearers and backdrops.

The club’s products (Fliers, stickers, jerseys, T-shirts, Face Caps) were also visible in the traditional white and orange colour setting, adding colour to the tour as spectators were treated to good music shortly before the rains came calling.

The Lions next play Go Round FC this Saturday (Feb 29, 2020) by 4pm at the same venue after embarking on a Radio tour on Friday February 28, 2020.
