A former attacker with National Grassroots Dream Team, Ebere Goodluck has invited several of his friends who are based abroad to fly home and play an exhibition match at Landmark Field, Coker-Orile, Lagos, Sports247 reports.
The friendly match, which is billed to start at 7am on January 2nd, 2026, will see Ebere and his foreign-based friends battle Idowu Boys FC of Orile-Iganmu, the youth club he played for before traveling to the United States of America,.
He has now rolled out a long list of foreign-based stars that will feature in the jerseys of ‘Ebere & Friends’ against the current set of Idowu Boys, who are expected to be joined by some of their former players like Godstime David Onuador, Harrison Enyashi and Chinedu Obinor.
Among the invaders from abroad are Monday ‘Obrotoyo’ Samuel (Italy), Abubakar Karim (Scotland), Bobosky Smith (South Africa), Christian Ofili (USA), Shakiru Abikoye (France), Paul Banney (USA), Wasiu Afolabi (France) and Joseph Solomon (France).
Others to join ‘Ebere & Friends’ are Justin Casillas (USA), Tunde Ishola (Sweden), Jimmy Nwaoze (Netherlands), Nicholas Balogun (USA), Michael Andrew (France), Durosimi Adeleke Pablo (France), Success Godwin (France), Gabriel Okechukwu (England) and Sunday Okoi (France).
Ebere told Sports247: “Aside from helping us get a happy reunion among ourselves, after many years apart, and bring some new year fun to the area we grew up, it will also be used as a memorial for some of the coaches that brought us up but are now late.
“We want to remember good coaches like Idowu Matti, Anthony Onuoha and many others like that. They all helped us get to where we are today, one way of the other. We will use this match to honour them. May their souls continue to rest in peace.”
