Unity Cup Will Combine Football With Music, Food, Entertainment, Community Engagement – Drew Uyi

A Nigerian-born FIFA licensed players’ agent, Dr Drew Uyi has spoken in glowing terms about the upcoming 2026 Unity Cup, which he says will combine excellence in football with the best of entertainment, Sports247 reports.

Speaking ahead of the competition, whose opening match will see Nigeria tango Zimbabwe on Tuesday, Uyi disclosed further that side attractions for each match day will include music performances, food shows and cultural engagements.

Uyi, who has worked with top players like Odion Jude Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Oyinyen Ndidi, Emmanuel Dennis and Victor Moses, added that this year’s Unity Cup will provide more attractions for spectators than all three editions before it.

The renowned agent, who is also highly rated as a contract negotiator, brand strategist, athlete educator and manager of professional footballers, is set to serve as event ambassador for the competition taking plsce at Charlton Athletic FC’s stadium, The Valley.

The football buff, whose full name is Andrew Uyi Ogbomoide and his dad hails from Edo State, has a huge influence at his official base in Birmingham, England, where Zimbabwe’s team landed on Thursday ahead of next week’s competition.

That marked the beginning of fresh corporate involvement for Uyi, whose impact has expanded since becoming an FA-licensed agent in 2018 and getting FIFA accreditation in 2023, as he has represented several top players and brokered endorsements for many stars of the game.

He is now excited to continue his role as the official cultural ambassador for the 2026 Unity Cup, which will feature Jamaica, India, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, in what he believes will be a mixture of exciting matches laced with social interactions.

“The Unity Cup is more than just a football tournament, as it’s known. It’s as a celebration of diaspora culture, combining international football with music, food, entertainment, and community experiences.

“I am honoured to once again be part of a platform that stands for legacy building, youth empowerment and positive change,” Uyi reiterated with a tone of satisfaction.
