Umukoro Hits Season’s Best as Nigerians Impress at New Mexico Collegiate Classic

Success Umukoro delivered a strong performance at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, clocking a season’s best 7.16 seconds in the women’s 60m to finish second overall. The Nigerian sprinter was narrowly edged by Brianna Selby, who won the race in 7.15s.

In the men’s 60m, Joshua Caleb advanced to the final and finished fourth, with his fastest time of the competition coming in the semifinals where he ran 6.61 seconds, showing encouraging form.

Over in the hurdles, Faith Osamuyi reached the semifinals of the women’s 60m hurdles, posting a time of 8.26 seconds as she continued her indoor campaign.

The performances marked another positive outing for Nigerian athletes at the meet, with multiple finalists and season-best efforts across sprint and hurdles events.
