Young Nigerian attacker Umejiego Mmesoma is on the verge of a major step forward in his career, with plans in place for him to join KF Teuta Durrës ahead of the 2026/27 season in Albania’s top division.
Currently playing for FK Apolonia Fier in the Kategoria e Parë, Mmesoma has been one of the standout performers in the league this season. The forward’s contract with Apolonia is set to expire on May 30, 2026, after which he is expected to complete his move to Teuta in June 2026.

The impending transfer comes on the back of an exceptional run of form. In just 8 appearances, the Nigerian forward has scored an impressive 11 goals, underlining his sharp finishing ability and attacking instinct.
His performances have not only drawn attention but also positioned him as one of the most exciting prospects currently playing in the Albanian second tier.
A move to KF Teuta Durrës, who compete in the Kategoria Superiore, represents a significant progression. It will offer Mmesoma the opportunity to test himself at a higher level while continuing his development in a more competitive environment.
Known for his movement, confidence in front of goal, and ability to influence games, Mmesoma has already shown that he can be a decisive figure in attack. His goal-scoring record this season suggests he has the qualities needed to make a smooth transition to top-flight football.
For Teuta, the expected signing signals an investment in a young, in-form striker capable of adding firepower to their squad. For Mmesoma, it is a chance to build on his current momentum and establish himself as a key player at a higher level.
As the summer window approaches, all eyes will be on the Nigerian forward as he prepares for the next phase of his journey. If his current form is anything to go by, Umejiego Mmesoma could be set to make a strong impact in Albania’s top division.
