Ultimate, Rainbow And Golden Boys In Flying Start To The ACADUC Tournament

The First Edition of the Agbor Coaches and Director’s Unity Cup Tournament got underway on friday at the Agbor Township Stadium with Rainbow FC defeating Palace FC 2-1. Rainbow FC who recently were crowned champions of the Chirex-Divine Cup got off to a flying start with a brace from their prolific Striker Lorenzo. The Striker opened scores in the 25th minute to give Rainbow a first half lead. Palace FC leveled scores in the 70th minute from the penalty spot and wee looking to share the spoils before Lorenzo put the icing on the cake with his trademark finish in the 85th minute to send Rainbows top of the Group A with all three points.

In the other group A Fixtures played on Saturday at the University of Delta, Agbor Sports Complex, Green Rangers shocked favourites Emelem by a lone goal. The onwundinjor boys Who ended the winning streak of Emelem United in the 2021 Ika Grassroots football League proved once again that they have the antedote of the Umunede side by taking all three points.

Ultimate FA defeated Divine FA by 2-0 with both goals coming off the boots of the rising star, Alloy Godstime. The former KG Sports and Divine FA Player opened scores against his former team inside 15 minutes and doubled the lead 9 minutes later. Ultimate took the 2-0 into the break and came back with a drab second half as Divine FA held their ground. The win was enough to send Ultimate top of Group D as the other group Match involving KG sports Academy and Ika Lions ended Goaless.

KG Sports Academy were forced to a scoreless draw despite dominating possesion and creating many chances a the Igumbor Otiku Secondary School Ground on Saturday. Coach Adeyinka Ogundeji tutored Academy boys failed to convert the numerous chances that fell for them. Golden Boys came from a goal down to pip Star Peak FC 2-1 in the group C Encounter at the Agbor Township Stadium on Saturday. Star peak took an early lead which they held on to into the break but the Coach Alika Onyeka golden boys came out stronger in the second half and fired in two goals to win the encounter and take all three points. In the other Group C Encounter, Delta Milan forced Uriel to a scoreless draw as both sides shared the spoils.

Matches will continue on Monday at the various Centers as all teams continue to fight for a berth into the Quarter finals.
