Uche Agbo Attracts Offers From Espanyol, Getafe

Standard Liege of Belgium defender-cum-midfielder, Uche Agbo is attracting January transfer interest from the Spanish duo of Espanyol and Getafe.

Sports247.ng gathered that Agbo, who previously made top marks in La Liga with Granada, before moving on loan to Liege, is quite desirous of returning to Spain.

His hope may not get the opportunity of turning into reality, as Getafe and Espanyol are said to be keen on a loan deal for him till end of the current season.

Interest is rising for Agbo in Spain, despite the fact that the-23-year-old utility player has struggled for playing time with the Belgium Jupiler side Standard Liege under new coach Preud’Homme and the versatile star could return to Spain where he featured 95 times for Granada.

The Kano-born former youth international, who has also played for Bai Boys, FC Taraba, JUTH of Jos, Enyimba of Aba and Udinese of Italy, plus a loan spell at Watford of England, has seven starting roles and three as a substitute in 21 Belgian league matches this season.

Interestingly, in their move for Agbo, Getafe could even include Japan international, Gaku Shibasaki in the loan deal, but there are facing stiff competition from Espanyol, who also want him at RCDE Stadium.
