U20 WAFU B: Ladan Bosso Calls Up Ikorodu City’s Free Kick Specialist And 39 Others

Following the appointment of coaches for all national teams in the country, coach of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, Ladan Bosso has invited 40 players to camp ahead of the West African Football Union WAFU B tournament which includes Ikorodu City’s Gabriel Adewara.

Gabriel Adewara plays at right back for Nigeria National League side (NNL) Ikorodu City and is a specialist in long range free kicks from over 30+ yards scoring such goals twice in the current 2022 season, first against Gateway United at home in the fourth game of the season and recently against Campos FC away in Owerri to help the team to a win at home and a draw on the road respectively.

The youngster is expected to join 39 other amazing talents from NPFL, NNL and NLO teams at the Blue Spring Hotel, opposite Ministry of Justice (Maitama), Abuja on Monday, 18th April with their international passports, according to Team Secretary Aliyu Lawal Ibrahim.

Nigeria is seven-time African champion at the U20 level and the face Ghana and Burkina Faso in group B of the WAFU B championship taking place on the 7th-20th of May in Niamey.

Hosts Niger Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo and Benin Republic will battle in Group A as only two finalists will qualify from the WAFU B zone to participate in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
