U-20 World Cup: Flying Eagles Captain Apologies To Nigerians Over 2-0 Defeat To Brazil

The captain of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, Daniel Bameyi has apologized to Nigerians for the Flying Eagles’ defeat against Brazil.

The Flying Eagles suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Brazilian side on Saturday in the final group-stage game in La Plata.

By this defeat, the Flying Eagles finished third position and Best losers in the group which surprised many football fans across the country.

After the game, Bamayi tendered an unreserved apology and reassured the country that the team will bounce back strongly.

“It was disappointing that we lost and we wanted to win to keep our winning record, but that’s football.

“We’re sorry we lost, while we appreciate the support of Nigerians and we will bounce back”, he said.

Bameyi was part of the Super Eagle team during the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
