True Confession: “Sitting On Bench Bring The Best Out Of Me” – Nigerian League Player

Ibrahim Adigun, a Nigerian League player and one of the Messiah FC players that stole the show when his team confronted Zenith Emperor Football Club recently at the Nationwide League One NLO.

Adigun was on the bench and missed some matches because of his low productivity in the club but his performance against Zenith Emperor at Alade sports center shocked the coaching crew headed by Tunde Olayinka. His performance adjudged him a man of the match in the encounter.

When sports247.ng asked what motivated him to outshine his colleagues on the field of play, the midfielder player said he played better because his team lost valuable points in some matches played recently and felt that if he was on the field, it won’t happen.

“I play better because our results in the league recently are worrisome and secondly I want to prove to the coaching crew that kept me on the bench that Adigun is good and better. I am happy that I have shamed my critics and I am ready to play better in our subsequent matches,” he said.

Adigun boasted that Messiah won’t relegate and urged his colleagues to remain resolute and committed to their remaining matches.

Meanwhile, Messiah’s 3-1 victory over Zenith Emperor in NLO last weekend have moved them up on the table.

Messiah still have a home match with Gbagada FC and table topper, Smart City before the end of the season. Messiah boys would play their next away match against Synergy FC.
