Tosin Kehinde Joins Olympic Eagles’ Camp In Abuja

Manchester United of England youth team player, Tosin Kehinde has kept his promise to commit his international future to Nigeria, as the lad on loan at CD Feirense of Portugal has arrived in the camp of the under-23 national team, Olympic Eagles.

Sports247.ng gathered that Tosin is in line for his debut appearance in the green-and-white against Libya in the March 20 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations first leg qualifier, following his commencement of training with Coach Imama Amapakabo’s side.

Although Kehinde had spoken of his desire to line out at full senior level with the Super Eagles, the 20-year-old defender arrived in Abuja to start training with Amapakabo’s eam ahead of their trip to Tunisia for the first leg against Libya, who are still barred from playing in their country.

Kehinde first made a pledge to play for Nigeria last year March, when he visited the Eagles at Crowne Plaza Hotel, London before a pre-World Cup build-up friendly against Serbia.

Back then he held talks with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) second vice-president, Mallam Shehu Dikko, along with the secretary-general, Dr Mohammed Sanusi and Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr.

Though born in Lagos, Kehinde could play for England, having lived in the country for several years before transferring to Feirense in August, but he stressed that Nigeria is his first option, which he has now confirmed.
