Sports247 gathered that Adarabioyo, who is still being touted for a switch to play for Nigeria at senior level, will not be present to stop Arokodare from scoring in the upcoming encounter, as he is still injured.
However, his situation is considered controversial at Stamford Bridge, as The Blues’ medics have already declared that his injury is not serious enough to keep him out of action, but the coaches want to play safe.
UK’s SunSport reported that the medics believe 28-year-old Adarabioyo’s injury is not troublesome, but Chelsea’s technical crew insist that they will remain cautious, rather than gamble on his quick return.
Adarabioyo, who was previously with Manchester City, has not played since his removal against Brentford last month, after complaining of a lingering hamstring problem, but he has taken a positive step forward in his recovery.
The report added, “Chelsea’s medical staff are keen to avoid a setback, with hamstring issues notorious for flaring up if players are pushed too soon.
“There is concern that a lack of caution now could lead to bigger problems later in the season. That means this weekend’s clash against Wolves could come too early.
“As the experienced defender continues to build up his fitness, the upcoming home game against Leeds is seen as a more realistic target (for Adarabioyo’s return).”
